Pack 484 holds 6th Annual Father Scout cake baking contest

On Jan. 15, Pack 484 held their 6th Annual Father Scout cake baking contest. Scouts are encouraged to get in the kitchen and create an entirely edible scout themed cake with a Male role model. All cakes were created with no female help.

In 2019 Pack 484 had 31 cakes entered for judging, this is a record number of cake entries in pack history. Cake themes ranged from camping, archery, to pinewood derby. As part of community engagement encouragement Pack 484 invited local Marshall County community officials to judge the cakes on four different categories.

Judges were Circuit Court Judge Jamie Jameson, County Attorney Jason Darnall, Assistant County Attorney Jacob Ford, District Court Judge Jack Telle and Judge Executive Kevin Neal. All cakes were judged on: 1. Judges Choice (Best Overall) 2. Most original Scout theme. 3. Hardest to complete. 4. Best Tasting.

The scouts and their Male role models put a lot of hard work into their cake creations, furthering the scout goal of encouraging self-development in all areas of ones life. The Scout Moto is to “Do your Best”.  Pack 484 believes every scout who entered a cake has shown that they can succeed in the Scout Moto in their cake designed as well as their daily lives.

Pack 484 would like to thank everyone who participated as well as the Judges for their participation in an evening of everything cake.
