Bryce Ladd signed today with Brescia University’s track program where he will compete for Head Coach Luke Stoffel. Brescia is a member of the River States Conference and a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Bryce has been a member of the Marshall County High School Track and Field program for four years.

As a freshmen, Bryce immediately had an impact as he helped his team secure a 3-point victory in the Region 1 AAA Championship clearing a sixth place vault of 10 feet. Additionally, Bryce continued his ascent as a pole-vaulter and went on to take third at the regional meet as a sophomore and second his junior season. On the state level, Bryce has made two appearances, recording a 10th place finish along with a seventh place finish last year where he jumped is personal best (12-6).

“There is no better feeling than seeing a kid like Bryce make his move to the next level,” commented men’s Head Coach Andrew Johnston. “Bryce embodies what a track and field athlete is all about. He is focused, determined, patient, accountable, and resilient. There are days out here where we have to trust kids to put in the work and be leaders and Bryce has always been a guy I can trust on the field and in the classroom. Bryce is a tireless worker and I know Brescia will be better for adding him to their roster.”

Bryce’s capstone individual moment is securing a one-two finish at Regionals last year with his close competitor and teammate, Caleb Pahl, and going on again to take a seventh and eighth place finish at the state meet. Bryce is respected and looked up to by his teammates. He is truly a leader on the track.

Many have helped develop Bryce along the way, including past and current MCHS coaches Nathan Bazzell, Jared Rosa, his parents Beth McCallum and Brandon Ladd, Corey Westerfield, Andrew Johnston, and above all Daren Pahl.

“Bryce’s contributions to the program have been outstanding while at Marshall County, but he is not finished yet”, Johnston said. “We expect huge things from him during this, his senior season. If the off-season work is any indication, we know he will have a tremendous year. We are beyond proud of what Bryce has done and will do. Our goal here at Marshall County Track is to ‘leave your mark’ and there isn’t any doubt of the impact Bryce has had on this team. We wish you way more than luck, Bryce.”

Bryce was joined at his signing by his parents Beth Driver McCallum and Brandon Ladd and several family members and friends.
