Lady Marshals improve to 13-3, beat Tilghman 63-36

Tera Colson drew the foul from Tilghman’s Rosie Minter in the Lady Marshals 63-36 win Tuesday which improves their record to 13-3.

Celebrating Senior Night Tuesday, the Lady Marshals picked up their fifth straight win over Paducah Tilghman. After a 2-2 start to the game, the Lady Marshals led the rest of the way to win 63-36.

Whitnee Miller scored the first points for the Lady Marshals, tied by Destiny Thomas, an eighth grader for Paducah Tilghman who scored 20 of their 36 total points. Thomas had all four of Tilghman’s first quarter points while the Lady Marshals 17 points came from Halle Langhi with six, Lorin Powell five, Layne Pea with three, Miller’s two and one from Cayson Conner.

Trailing 26-4 in the second quarter, Tilghman scored nine unanswered by the Lady Marshals to cut the lead to 26-13. The Lady Marshals scored the next eight on two free throws by Tera Colson, a three and free throw by Pea and final basket by Langhi to lead 34-13 at halftime.

Conner scored half of her 14 points in the game in the third quarter to help lead the Lady Marshals to a 28 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Conner opened the fourth quarter with two straight baskets followed by a field goal by Miller to lead 56-22 before a basket by Thomas stopped the 5-0 run by the Lady Marshals. Trailing 60-28, Tilghman finished out the game out-scoring the Lady Marshals 8-3.

Seniors Tera Colson, Whitnee Miller and Lorin Powell were recognized following the game, along with senior manager Emily Bridges.
