Jonathan Elementary STLP Advances to State Competition

The Jonathan Elementary STLP team has qualified to compete in the state competition on April 18, 2019.

The Kentucky Department of Education’s Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) uses project-based learning principles to empower student learning and achievement through the utilization (and creation) of technology to solve school and community needs. STLP provides a means for student to design, make, connect and learn.

Student products, projects, and services are showcased through local, regional, and state events. The “Big 3” events include Regionals, DPOJ, and STLP State Championship.

Members of the STLP team are Avery Lovett, Bailey Willis, Violet Thomas and Emma Roberts and is led by instructor, Brandon Newton. The team participated in the regional competition with their project “How to Make Reading More Interesting”.  Teams from regionals scoring an 85 or better were invited to advance to state. Jonathan’s team scored a 98/100.
