Cram the Cruiser Holiday Drive

  • By Brandi Greenfield

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is now collecting non-perishable food items and new, unopened toys through December for their annual Cram the Cruiser Holiday Drive.

As in years past, food items will be donated to Bags of Hope Ministry here in Marshall County.  Any money collected will go directly to support Marcella’s Kitchen.

In years past some folks have wanted to donate toys and, while the Sheriff’s Office always found deserving kids throughout the year to give them to, there was never an official method of distributing the toys.  This year, however, they will be donating the new, unopened toys collected to The Moses Basket, which is another awesome nonprofit in Marshall County.  The Moses Basket collects items for foster kids and families.  These children are often forgotten by many and can be transitioning between caretakers during the holidays. We know the folks at The Moses Basket will ensure your toy donations go to kids who will really appreciate them.

You can come to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office 24/7 to drop off any nonperishable food item, or toys, inside the cruiser parked in the grassy area in front of the office (pictured). If you are wanting to donate money, the Sheriff’s Office asks that you deliver that inside the office during business hours.

The Sheriff’s Office will also be setting up times for collections at local stores, where they can collect any of the above in person.  Updates on that coming soon.
