Jay Nimmo has been named the 2018 Region 1 Player of the Year by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association and Marshals Tyler Powell and Camdyn McLeod selected to the Region 1 team.
Eight others named to the Region 1 Team included Husten Lancaster (Mayfield), Conner Kirkham (McCracken), Brogan Welsh (Murray), Andrew Watson (Mayfield), Hunter Reynolds (Trigg), Camerson Head (St. Mary) and Tyler Abernathy (Hickman). Graves County Head Coach Chuck Whitnell was named Coach of the Year.
Stephanie Fisk, head coach of the Marshall County girl’s team, was named Region 1 Coach of the Year. Lady Marshals Hallie Riley, Savannah Howell and Megan Hertter were named to the Region 1 team. Three players were named Co-Players of the Year – Margaret Butts (St. Mary), Jessica Stephens (McCracken) and Nicole Taylor (Graves). Mary Browder Howell (Murray), Campbell Knoth (Caldwell) and Ellie West (Graves) were also named to the Region 1 team.
