The Marshall County Exceptional Center hosted their annual Exceptional Sunday celebration and open house on Sunday. The event featured a spaghetti luncheon and entertainment including the clients of the exceptional center. Local churches were asked to observe Exceptional Sunday by collecting a love offering and several business and organizations made check presentations as well.
The MCEC has faced is largest budget shortfall this year making the $115,000.00 raised from this event especially important. Director Lindsey Walker says “It’s more than double what we raised last year! We haven’t seen numbers this high in at least 10 years” The center does expect additional donations to come in over the next few weeks as well.
