KSP Works Fatality Collision in Trigg County

Cadiz, KY (October 16, 2018) The Kentucky State Police received a call of a collision in Trigg County at approximately 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of US 68 and Main Street in Cadiz, KY on October 15, 2018.   Preliminary investigation shows Richard M. Manning, 55 of Cadiz, was traveling westbound in the left lane, on US 68 operating a 2003 Toyota Highlander. Lilly M. Wease, 40 of Cadiz, was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu traveling westbound in the right lane on US 68. For an unknown reason, Manning collided with the left rear side of Wease, which caused her to run off the roadway into the median. Manning  ran off the roadway and traveled down an embankment and entered Merchant Street, striking a 2013 Ford C-Max that was traveling East and being operated by Patrick D. Karrigan, 64 of Cadiz. Manning continued across Merchant Street and struck a utility pole.  Manning was pronounced deceased at the scene by Trigg County Coroner.

The investigation is continuing by KSP Collision Reconstructionist Michael Robichaud.  KSP was assisted on the scene by the Trigg County Coroner’s Office.
