MAYFIELD, KY (October 5, 2018) – Kentucky State Police Post 1 welcomes Captain Jerry Handy as the new Post Commander. Captain Handy is a native of Dry Ridge, Kentucky. He is a 2001 graduate of the Kentucky State Police Academy. Captain Handy was promoted to the rank of Captain on September 16, 2018 and was assigned to Post 1. Upon graduating from the KSP Academy Handy was assigned to Post 6 (Dry Ridge). Handy has served with Special Operations as a Canine Handler. Upon promotion to Sergeant he was transferred to Drivers testing. Handy promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to Post 6 as the Operations Lieutenant and later transferred to Special Operations.On September 1, 2018, the previous Post Commander, Daniel White, was reassigned to Post2 as the Post Commander.
