Candidate Forum to Benefit Marcella’s Kitchen

With the November 6 general elections drawing near, a new opportunity to hear from local candidates has now been scheduled.

On Tuesday, October 23 at 6:00PM, Marcella’s Kitchen will host a candidate forum and chilli supper that will be open to the community. The forum will take place at their current location in the Lion’s Club building in Draffenville. There is no cost to attend the forum, however, donations will be accepted for the meal.  The community kitchen is hoping to raise funds for their new building that is nearing completion near the old Marshall County Hospital in Benton.

All candidates from the following races are invited to participate in the forum: judge executive, sheriff, coroner, county commissioners, county attorney, commonwealth attorney, and Calvert City mayoral race. Candidates wishing to participate need to contact Britney Heath at (270) 978-0702 or britneydheath@yahoo.com to confirm their participation by Friday, October 12.  Donations made to Marcella’s Kitchen by any of the candidates participating will be announced and recognized the night of the forum.

Candidates of any race not being included in the forum are invited and encouraged to also attend  and will be introduced during the event.

Questions for the forum may be submitted by the public through Friday, October 12 and can be sent to the Marshall County Daily through Facebook messages or through the “contact us” section on our site. Please include the race you would like the question addressed to. The Tribune Courier will also be taking questions from readers. All questions received by the Tribune Courier and Marshall County Daily will be submitted to the Marcella’s Kitchen board and they will select the questions to be asked.
