Lady Marshals win Marshall County Invitational, Riley takes second

The Lady Marshals team celebrates their first place finish in the Marshall County Invitational held at Calvert City Country Club.

The girls took to the course in the afternoon at the Marshall County Invitational at Calvert City Country Club Saturday and the Lady Marshals captured first place with a team score of 312, nine strokes in front of second place South Warren with 321.

South Warren’s Faith Martin won medalist honors with a 1-over round of 73 in the field of 86. Marshall County’s Hallie Riley placed second with a 2-over 74, Graves County’s Nicole Taylor took third with 75 and Marshall County’s Savannah Howell fourth with a round of 76.

Following the scores of Riley and Howell for the Lady Marshals, Megan Hertter shot 76, Kenley Luksic 85 and Sydney Phillips 88. Scoring as individuals for the Lady Marshals, Katie Stokes 95 and Elsie Riley 104. Playing nine holes in the Invitational, Sarah Umbarger shot 58 and Olivia Bucher 62.
