Ballard Travelstead Engineering, PLLC is an electrical engineering firm based in Calvert City, Kentucky that focuses on partnering with its clients to deliver a variety of electrical engineering and related support services. Their business model is centered around long-term relationships – with intent to become an extension of the clients’ staff.

They were founded on the belief that a small and focused engineering firm is substantially more efficient than a large company with many diverse interests. Their employee base is intentionally lean, minimizing unnecessary management and support staff. Their priority is not to increase their project base, but instead to develop long-term relationships with a core group of clients. It is with this focus and dedication to customer satisfaction that provides high-quality, cost-effective services.

Owner, Becky Ballard Travelstead, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Electrical Engineering and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Kentucky.  She has ten years of electric utility experience, primarily working in electric transmission and distribution planning, and two years of consulting experience in commercial and industrial electrical engineering. Through partnerships with other small engineering firms, Ballard Travelstead Engineering is able to complete a wide range of projects.  Ballard Travelstead operates with very little overhead and therefore are able to pass along that savings directly to their customers. They also offer a task-based billing structure in which rates are billed by the task being done and not the job title of the employee.
