Marshals, Lady Marshals earn wins over Graves County

Hallie Riley led the girl’s team to a win over Graves County with a 2-under par 34 Thursday at the Kentucky Dam course.

In their first home match of the season, both the Marshals and Lady Marshals golf teams earned wins over Graves County at the Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park course on Thursday. Playing the par 36 front nine, the girl’s won by six strokes and the boy’s team by 11 strokes.

The Lady Marshals Blue team beat the Lady Eagles 155 to 161 and they were led by medalist Hallie Riley with a 2-under par 34. Scoring also came from Megan Herrter 39, Savannah Howell 40, Kenley Luksic 42 and Sydney Phillips 49. The Lady Marshals also fielded an Orange team that recorded a team score of 216, led by Katie Stokes 44, Elsie Riley 49, Sarah Umbarger 61 and Olivia Bucher 62.

The Marshals beat the Eagles 155 to 166 and they were led by medalist Jay Nimmo with a 1-under 35. Tyler Powell and Camdyn McLeod both shot 2-over par 38, Trey Wall 44 and Drake Butler 50. Playing as individuals for the Marshals; Hayden Powell 47, Teddy Wynn 49, Nick Dowdy 50, Preston Futrell 51, Tate Scillian 52, Hunter Anderson 52, Ben Staples 52 and David Jack Morris 53.

Both teams will tee it up on Saturday at Paxton Park in the Paducah Tilghman Invitational. The girls will tee off at 8:00 am and the boys at 1:30 pm.
