A traffic stripe painting crew is working along Interstate 24 through Western Kentucky starting TODAY.

This crew is working along I-24 starting near the Trigg-Christian County line at milepoint 69.8 and working westward through the Paducah area.

This mobile painting caravan will include a paint truck and several escort vehicles making several passes in each direction to paint edge lines and center traffic striping.  Motorists should be alert for signage on the support vehicles providing directions on how to safely overtake and pass the moving work caravan.  Signage on the support vehicles will also help motorists avoid driving through wet paint.

This traffic paint caravan will cover all of Interstate 24 between milepoint 69.8 and milepoint 0.0 at the I-24 Ohio River Bridge at Paducah.

This paint caravan will have a law enforcement escort.

By this weekend, two more paint crews plan to be working along various highways across the region.

Anytime you encounter one of these paint caravans on a 4-lane highway, please slow down and use appropriate caution until all vehicles in the mobile work zone have been passed.  If you meet a paint caravan on a 2-lane highway please slow down and use caution.  If you overtake a paint caravan please practice patience.

Remember, the work these traffic paint crews do along our highways is to help improve the safety of you and your family.
