KY Dam Village State Park work to ramp up starting Monday, July 9th

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to ramp up work along US 62 East of Calvert City in Marshall County starting around Monday, July 9, 2018.

This work zone along US 62 from the I-24/US 62 Exit 27 at Calvert City extending eastward to Kentucky Dam Village State Park includes grade and drain work for widening of the roadway to add a center turn lane, as well as construction of a multi-use trial, and addition of decorative landscaping between Calvert City and the park.

This work zone along US 62 East of Calvert City covers about 1.75 miles.

Initial clearing along the right-of-way starting next week will have minimal impact on passing traffic. However, as the work zone ramps up to become more active it will eventually include traffic shifts and a 35 mile per hour work zone speed limit.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $5.3 million highway improvement project. The target completion date is November 30, 2019.
