Aubree Jo Kemp pitched a 7-inning shut-out over Caldwell County Thursday, allowing two hits and striking out seven in the Lady Marshals 1-0 win.
Caldwell County threatened in the first inning by loading the bases with one out on the board but Kemp got out of the inning with a pop up out and ground out to leave the base runner stranded.
Charley Pursley walked in the fourth inning, advanced to second on a hit by Conner and on to third on a fielder’s choice before Gracey Murt brought her in for the only run for the Lady Marshals.
Caldwell County pitcher Katie Franklin had a good six innings on the mound for the Lady Tigers, allowing three hits, one run and struck out seven.

Tuesday against Murray, the Lady Marshals completed a sweep of district opponents in a 11-1 win in five innings over the Lady Tigers. Kemp allowed one hit in the win and struck out four, backed up by the bats of Addie Young and Presley Jezik who both hit doubles and had two RBI’s. Cayson Conner and Riley Piercefield also tacked on two RBI’s each.
A ground out by Murt scored Sarenna Tomassi in the first inning, tied by Murray in the second. Four runs in the fourth inning came on Young and Jezik’s doubles and a 2-run single by Piercefield for a 5-1 lead. They added six runs in the fifth that came on a sacrifice by Young, 2-run sacrifice by Conner, single by Jezik, error and sacrifice by Kinley Edwards for the 11-1 win.
