Lady Marshals down North Bullitt, walk-off win over Edgewood

A 13-3 win over North Bullitt and 3-2 win over Edgewood, OH moved the Lady Marshals to 4-0 in the Florida Beach Bash in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Tuesday against North Bullitt, the Lady Marshals amassed 19 hits in the win, four coming off the bat of Addie Young who was 4 for 4 with three RBI’s. Wednesday’s win was highlighted by Sarenna Tomassi’s 1-run single for the walk-off win. Tomassi was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI’s in the game.

Against North Bullitt, the Lady Marshals were down 1-0 in their first time at the plate but would score five runs on a single by Presley Jezik, RBI by Kinley Edwards, single by Gracey Murt, an error and a sacrifice by Kaycee Kemp. They added two more runs in the second inning on a single by Edwards and scored a run on a wild pitch.

The Lady Eagles put up two more runs in the third inning on singles by Ashyton Brown and Kaylie Davis to cut the Marshall County lead to 7-3. The Lady Marshals scored three more runs in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice by Tomassi, triple by Jezik and single by Addie Young. Their final two runs came in the bottom of the fifth on a 2-run single by Young.

Scoreless through four innings against Edgewood, a run in the top of the fifth put Edgewood on the board first. The Lady Marshals took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI double by Tomassi and single by Pea.

Edgewood tied the at 2-2 in the top of the seventh before Tomassi’s line drive brought in Charley Pursley for the walk-off win. The win improves the Lady Marshals Florida Beach Bash record to 4-0 and overall record to 6-1. Following a day off for the team today, they will play their final game on Friday at noon against Niceville, FL.
