Woodlands Nature Station Hosts Girl Scout Day

Land Between the Lakes , Ky./Tenn. – March 16, 2018 – Woodlands Nature Station will host Girl Scout Day on March 24, 2018, from 10am-3pm at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

The theme is Outdoor Art Day! A guest professional artist as well as hands-on activities, guided hikes, crafts, games, and more will help Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes earn their Outdoor Art badge requirements.

There is no need to register, just show up and bring a friend!

Everyone is welcome. General admission covers all programs and activities: $5 ages 12 and up, $3 ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and under.

Plan to spend at least 3 hours to complete all activities. Most activities will be outdoors.

“It’s Outdoor Art Day this year at Girl Scout Day!” says Monica West, naturalist at Woodlands Nature
Station. “Talk with a professional artist about her nature-inspired work in our Artist Corner. Then try your hand at creating your own art with our many activities throughout the day!”

Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes will have a chance to earn all the badge requirements for their respective Outdoor Art badges, and receive a certificate of completion.

Seniors and Ambassador Scouts are encouraged to volunteer! Call Monica West at 270.924.2299 for more information on volunteering.

Girl Scouts can come with their troop or individually with a parent, and are encouraged to bring friends. Non-scouts are welcome to participate!

Badge requirements will be completed through a combination of scheduled guided hikes and a series of activity stations that scouts can visit throughout the day.
