Marshals roll to 78-48 win over Murray

Two programs with first-year head coaches in Terry Birdsong and Murray High’s Dior Curtis squared off in their teams first district game of the season with the Marshals taking the victory in a big way in their 78-48 win over the Tigers.

Leading the way for the Marshals was Tyler Powell with 21 points and 12 from Skyler Smith. The Marshals hit eight 3-pointers and were 14 of 18 from the free throw line. Hunter Utley led Murray with 28 points.

They led 13-8 at the end of the first quarter and took their largest lead of the first half at halftime, leading 33-18. The Marshals out-scored Murray 27-16 in the third quarter to lead 60-34 and added 18 more points in the fourth quarter to cruise to a 30-point win.

The Marshals will play in Orlando, FL December 18-20 in The Grind Session’s Amusement Park Classic.
