Murray High’s Lady Tigers have picked up right where they left off, even with new leadership in Head Coach Wyatt Foust who took over for 21-year Head Coach Rechelle Turner who now is head coach of the Murray State women’s team.

Three who have committed to Murray State, Lex Mayes, Alexis Burpo and Macey Turley, led Murray to a 63-27 win over the Lady Marshals Tuesday. Burpo led the Lady Tigers with 20 points and Mayes followed with 16 points.

The Lady Marshals took one lead at 6-5 that was followed by a 16-0 run by the Lady Tigers to close out the first quarter with a 21-6 lead. A run that stretched out to 23 straight points before the Lady Marshals got on the board again, trailing 39-15 at halftime.

Murray out-scored the Lady Marshals 24-12 in the second half for the district win and extend their early season record to 5-1. Emily Bridges led the way for the Lady Marshals with 10 points.
