NWS issues wind advisory today for western Kentucky

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a wind advisory, which will remain in effect from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 throughout western Kentucky, southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.
Residents should expect southwest wind gusts of up to 40 mph, which could create difficult driving conditions for vehicles with a high center of gravity, such as SUVs, pickup trucks and vans. Outdoor objects and decorations could also be blown around or damaged.
NWS issues a wind advisory when sustained winds are expected to reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour or wind gusts are expected to reach 40 mph for any duration.
