Members of First Baptist Church in Benton are working to ensure that everyone has some place to go where they can eat a full meal and enjoy fellowship with friends, loved ones and fellow residents on Christmas.

The church will host its 10th annual Community Christmas Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Christmas day in the activities building at the intersection of 10th and Main streets in Benton. The event will feature a “full festive feast” for the community, consisting of turkey and ham, dressing and gravy, beans, sweet potatoes, rolls and a dessert buffet, free of charge.

In addition to the meal, the event will host music and singing, as well as a visit from Santa.

Residents who live within a 5-mile radius and are unable to attend the dinner may call for a meal delivery to their door. Residents must call the church office by Dec. 21 with needs and address to ensure delivery.

“Regardless of circumstance, this meal is for anyone who desires to come,” a First Baptist news release read. “As one annual guest said: ‘This is something wonderful for us to do and be with people. It saves our holiday.”

Individuals and groups of family and friends are welcome to attend. Participants may call the church office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday to RSVP, however it is not required. The church office will close Dec. 22-25.
