MCCH selects new Chief Operating Officer

Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) has named John Wilson as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Wilson has been at MCCH for nine years, where he held the position of vice president of human resources/operations. Prior to working at MCCH, he worked as the director of human resources at multiple hospitals in Kentucky and New York.

As the COO he will handle and oversee many facets of the hospital, on a daily basis he will be working with human resources, facilities, food services, rehab services, laboratory, ambulance and physician practices and provider relations. Wilson is also responsible for monitoring and maintaining the daily operations of MCCH. Wilson has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky; a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Sullivan University and is a Senior Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

“I am honored and humbled to be given this opportunity to serve the members of the MCCH family and our medical staff,” Wilson said. “My time in Murray and at MCCH has been some of the most rewarding times in my life, and I look forward in helping lead MCCH into the future.”

Wilson is from Jamestown and has four children: Megan(19), Lucas (16), Grace (10) and Anna (6). Wilson has been married to his wife, Jamie, for 23 years. When he’s not working, Wilson enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid University of Kentucky and Murray State University fan.
