CFS qualifies three for state cross country championships

Christian Fellowship’s Jordan Haley, Anya McCombs and Boaz Burnett qualified for the state cross country championships following Saturday Region One Class 1A meet.

Christian Fellowship had five athletes participate in the Region One Class 1A cross country meet Saturday at Marshall County High School.  Three advanced to state meet which will be held Saturday Nov. 4 at the Kentucky State Horse Park in Lexington.

Jordan Haley placed 12th with a time of 19:38.16 and Boaz Burnett placed 15th with a time of 19:49.58, taking the fourth and fifth spots of the next five individuals not on a state qualifying team. Anya McCombs placed eighth with a time of 23:27.00 to qualify as the fourth individual for state.

Also running for CFS Saturda, Jake Laframboise placed 31st in 20:53.88 and Nevaeh Tyson 31st in 31:13.10.

The Hickman County boy’s team won the team Class 1A title with the individual title going to Thomas Duncan of University Heights in 17:01.55. The girl’s team title went to St. Mary and individual title to Muki Kunnmann also of University Heights.
