Tuesday fire destroys home near Graves-Marshall line, no injuries reported

A Graves County home was destroyed by fire Tuesday night, though firefighters say no one was injured in the blaze.

Symsonia, West Marshall, Clear Springs and Viola fire department units were dispatched about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 to a single-family dwelling fire on the 1900 block of Symsonia Highway, just over the Graves-Marshall County line. According to Symsonia Fire Department Chief Michael Kaler, crews arrived on scene to find the attic, carport and a vehicle under the carport engulfed.

Crews remained on scene until after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to extinguish the blaze.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Red Cross also assisted local fire departments on scene.
