Teens hospitalized after Tuesday night rollover crash

Two local teenagers were hospitalized after a rollover crash last night in Aurora.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, about 10:18 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, emergency personnel responded to Highway 68 East in Aurora in reference to the crash. Deputies say Jacob Russell, 16, of Aurora was driving east when he lost control of his four-door Ford sedan. Investigators say the car then dropped off the left side of the road and overturned “numerous times.”

Russell and his passenger, a 14-year-old boy who police did not immediately identify, were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash; both were ejected from the vehicle.

The teens were taken to Marshall County Hospital via EMS for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash. Marshall County Hospital ER personnel on Wednesday declined to release Russell’s condition.

South Marshall Fire Department and Marshall County EMS assisted MCSD on scene.
