Christian Fellowship in control of 4th District, play in KCAC Tournament Saturday

Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles are 21-5 heading into their final games of the regular season on October 5th at Madisonville North Hopkins, the KCAC Tournament on October 7th at Covington Latin and a game on October 10th at Calloway County. The Lady Eagles are 16-1 in 1st Region competition and 5-0 in district play.

The Lady Eagles are 4-4 in their last eight games starting with a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-9, 25-16) over Community Christian Academy on September 19th. Leading statistics from the win include Emma Alexander with 25 assists, 13 kills by Abigail Cima and seven each by Sarah Muller and Maggie Wagner. Emma Fletcher, Muller and Cima all had three aces each in the game.

They lost two games on September 23rd to Caldwell County 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-19) and 3-1 to Hopkinsville (25-19, 26-24 (CFS), 25-21, 25-20). Against Caldwell County, Cima led in kills with 10, Fletcher had nine and Wagner four. Alexander had 13 assists, Kenzie Murdock six while Wagner served up two aces. Against Hopkinsville, aces were recorded by Fletcher with four and Cima with three. Cima had 18 kills, Wagner five, Fletcher and Hovekamp with four each.

They were back in the win column last Thursday against Murray, winning 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-19). Cima had nine aces, Alexander four and Fletcher three. Cima led in kills with 12, Wagner had nine and Muller five while Alexander had 28 assists.

In Friday’s Quad State tournament in Paducah, CFS beat University Heights 2-0 (25-17, 25-13), then fell to Logan County 2-0 (25-11, 25-11). They won their first game on Saturday 2-0 (26-6, 25-15) over Miller Career Academy (St. Louis) which put the Lady Eagles in the Silver Bracket for pool play where they beat Daviess County 2-0 (25-20, 18-16), lost 2-0 to Murphysboro (25-14, 25-17) and lost 2-1 to Graves County (25-21(CFS), 25-20, 15-10).
