Benton man arrested after alleged assault at Ken Bar

A Benton man is facing charges after police say he assaulted a woman and her daughter at a Gilbertsville hotel.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded Monday, Sept. 18, to an alleged domestic assault at Ken Bar Lodge in Gilbertsville. Deputies say Victor P. Brown, 33, of Benton, was “manifestly under the influence,” when he broke into the alleged victims’ room at the lodge and assaulted them. Deputies observed two footprints on the door of the room, according to MCSD, as well as damage to the door of the room.

Both alleged victims, who were not identified, had visible marks indicating physical assault.

Brown was arrested and charged on suspicion of fourth-degree domestic assault, second-degree burglary and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
