The semi, operated by Michael Mercer, 59, of Kevil, was stopped in traffic due to a prior accident along the interstate.

Story and her passenger, 16-year-old Charolette Harrington, of Benton, were injured in the incident and taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment. Injuries suffered in the accident were not life-threatening, according to MCSD. Mercer was unharmed in the incident.
