Lady Marshals finish regular season with win at Lady Eagle Invitational

The Lady Marshals celebrate a win in their final regular season tournament.

Wrapping up their regular season on Saturday at the Graves County Lady Eagle Invitational at Mayfield Country Club, the Lady Marshals took first place with a score of 313, 16 strokes ahead of second place McCracken County.

Megan Hertter placed second at the Lady Eagle Invitational.

Megan Hertter led the Lady Marshals with a 3-over par 73 which secured her a second place finish. Medalist honors went to Madisonville North Hopkins player Shelby Darnell with 71, third and fourth place was a pair of 75’s shot by Graves County’s Nicole Taylor and Murray’s Delaney Welsh and Marshall County’s Hallie Riley shot 76 for 5th place.

Behind Hertter and Riley, Savannah Howell shot 80, Kennadi Spraggs 84 and Sydney Phillips 92 for the Lady Marshals.

The Lady Marshals B team shot 429 with scoring led by Kenley Luksic’s round of 90, Katie Stokes shot 100, Elsie Riley 107 and Leah Vincek 132. Maddie Ortt of Christian Fellowship played as an individual and shot 94.

This past Thursday at Miller Memorial in Murray, the girls played Murray and won 164 to 180. Riley led the way with a 1-over par 36, Howell posted a round of 39, Spraggs 42 and Hertter and Phillips each shot 47.

The team will begin preparing this week for the Regional Tournament on Tuesday, September 26th at Miller Memorial.
