Ortt to play Saturday in All ‘A’ State Golf Tournament

Jordan Vaughn, Maddie Ortt, Andrew Dunning and Elijah Toth are leading scorers for Christian Fellowship this season.

Maddie Ortt shot 40 at Silo’s Country Club Tuesday to lead all girls in Christian Fellowship’s match with Lyon County and Carlisle County in their first match of September. Ortt, qualified for Saturday’s All ‘A’ State Tournament at Woodson Bend Golf Course in Bronston, Ky., qualifying with a round of 84 in the All ‘A’ Tournament on August 11th.

The CFS boys recorded the only team score Tuesday, led by two nine-hole rounds of 53 shot by Andrew Dunning and Jordan Vaughn. Hayden Engler shot 54 and Brady Fletcher 63 for a team score of 223. Carter Space also played for CFS and shot 65.

Along with Ortt, three girls played in the match including Christian Fellowship’s Jada Montgomery who shot 72, Carlisle County’s Anna Underwood shot 72 and Lyon County’s Kathryn Brown carded a 51.

Medalist honors went to Lyon County’s Cullan Brown with an even par 36. Brown’s teammates, Keaton Bridges shot 40 and a round of 57 was shot by Cole Kaminski. Carlisle County was led by Reese Anderson with 46, Zach Miller shot 53 and Kannon Bowles a 65.

CFS played at Mineral Mounds on August 22nd against Lyon County, losing the match by just one stroke. Lyon County’s team score of 209 came from Bridges who led with 50, Kaminski shot 52, Taylor 53 and Burton 54. For the Lyon County girls, Bailey Fowler and Katherine Brown both shot 39.

Elijah Toth led the Eagles with 47, Vaughn shot 50, Engler 54 and Dunning 59 for a team score of 210. Individual scores for CFS came from Fletcher 62 and Space 68. Ortt carded a 43 and Montgomery a 67 for the Lady Eagles.

Their next match will be played on Monday at Calvert City Country Club against Graves County and Fulton County.
