Marshall County Trap Team takes third at State Tournament

Marshall County’s Trap Team finished third at the Kentucky State Tournament held this past weekend at the Central Kentucky Gun Club in Berea with a team total of 478/500. Taking first in the state was the team from Green County 488/50 and second went to Hart County 481/500.

Top five from each team combined for the score and for the Marshall County team leading the way was Travis Coursey with a nearly perfect 99/100 followed by Caleb Pahl 96/100, Tanner Puckett 96/100, Garrett Hurley 93/100 and Teddy Wynn 93/100.

Coursey finished third overall in varsity men but was pushed to fourth on a reverse countback. He was also selected to the Kentucky All-State Team based on his season average of 23.5/25

Gabby Davis placed second in Conference 3 with a season average of 20.6/25, Kinsey Story was third in high gun novice women with 71/100, Blake Robinson first in high gun novice men with 80/100 and Carter Beliles second place JV men with 94/100.

Several team members earned patches at the state tournament with 25 and 50 straights. Earning 25 straight patches  – Teddy Wynn, Austin Riley and Carter Beliles and 50 straights were earned by Tanner Puckett, Travis Coursey and Caleb Pahl.
