The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Lake Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 8 this morning to 7 this evening.
Winds will be strong and gusty throughout the day, especially from mid morning into the afternoon with occasional gusts of 30 to 40 mph.
The strong gusty winds will pose a hazard to small boat operators on area lakes and rivers.
Flood recovery efforts will also be negatively impacted, especially where boats are needed for checking flooded property.
With saturated soil across the area, the gusty winds will be capable of uprooting some trees with weakened root systems.
In addition, this may create challenging driving conditions for east and west bound travelers, especially those driving high profile vehicles.
