Exceptional Center dinner a success, tournament rescheduled

To the Editor:

On behalf of the individuals, board members and staff of the Marshall County Exceptional Center, I want to thank the many businesses and individuals who contributed items to help make our auction a huge success. I am pleased to announce that the auction raised $10,000. I also want to thank Larry Whitt with Magic Valley Catering for donating the wonderful dinner: lasagna, spaghetti & salad and Gus & Poppi Georgiou with Majestic Pizza & Steakhouse for donating pizza. The food was amazing.

The event was scheduled to begin with our annual Mike Miller Memorial Golf Tournament. However, after torrential rainfall, a majority of the course was under water, and we made the decision to postpone the tournament. It has been rescheduled for June 17, registration is at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. at the Calvert City Country Club. All teams who had paid for the April 22nd tournament will be credited for the June 17 date. Registration forms will be available on our Facebook page. A special thanks to CCCC Golf Pro Adam Webb for working with us and to CCCC for allowing us to use their course again this year.

Without your support, we would not be able to provide the services to the individuals here at MCEC. On behalf of the entire MCEC family, we truly appreciate everything this wonderful community continues to do for us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
