Marshals earn district split with win over Calloway

DRAFFENVILLE – The Marshals picked up an all important district win over Calloway County Thursday after losing 3-1 to the Lakers Tuesday. After a scoreless two innings, Jackson Beal got on base in the bottom of the third inning on a bunt, then stole second and third base, scoring on a bases loaded hit by Lucas Forsythe and an error on the Lakers brought home Cole Griggs.

They added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, both once again by Beal and Griggs who scored on a ground out by Cameron Ives and single by Forsythe to lead 4-0.

Calloway avoided the shut-out, scoring a run in the sixth inning on two outs with the bases loaded on a single by Aaron Dawson. JC Goins got the Marshals out of the inning on a 2-2 count to Isaac Ward who grounded out to CJ Johnson at second.
