The Benton City Council met in special session on February 24 and voted unanimously for the City of Benton in conjunction with the Benton Partnership to take over operations of the Benton Cruise-In.
After failed negotiations concerning compensation for coordinating efforts, the former coordinators of the Benton Cruise-In made the decision to no longer organize the event leaving the future of the volunteer event in question.
The Benton City Council, the Benton Partnership, city personnel, and several volunteers and citizens throughout the community recognized the importance and popularity of the Benton Cruise-In and took the appropriate steps to save this community event.
The event will continue as scheduled and will take place at the same time, date, and location you have come to enjoy.
