I-24 crash leads to DUI arrest in Marshall County

On February 20th at approximately 7:14pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to the 22 mile marker of I-24 to a vehicle crash. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver of one of the vehicles was intoxicated. Deputy Greenfield performed field sobriety tests, which were failed and found marijuana, suboxone, rolling papers, and a white powder substance on the drivers person and in the vehicle. Daniel J. Ossola age 29 of Collinsville, Illinois was arrested and charged with the following:

Operating a Motor Vehicle U/ Influence ALC / Drugs / ETC .08 ( AGG Circumstances ) 1st Offense

Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree

Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess

Possession Controlled Substance 2nd Degree

Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance

No Registration Plates

Ossola was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
