Kentucky fans get early look at future Wildcat PJ Washington

DRAFFENVILLE – The Grind session held a three-day Kentucky Lake Showcase at Marshall County’s Reed Conder Gymnasium Friday through Sunday with six games. The first game of the showcase featured Sunrise Christian (KS) and The Rock (FL). The game featured Texas A & AM signee Isiah Jasey who had 13 points in the Sunrise Christian 66-53 win.

In the second game Friday Region Two’s Hopkinsville played Findley Prep (NV) and Kentucky signee PJ Washington. Washington scored 23 points in Findley Prep’s 94-75 win. Hopkinsville was led by future Murray State football player CJ Henagan with 26 points.

Three games on Saturday began with Prolific Prep (CA) and Sunrise Christian. Prolific Prep’s Duke signee Gary Trent, Jr scored 36 points in their 84-53 win.

Kentucky fans got their second chance to watch PJ Washington when Findley Prep played Tennesse Prep in the second game on Saturday. Findley Prep won 90-65 led by Lamine Diane with 25 points.

The final game on Saturday was between The Rock and Hillcrest Prep (AZ). The Rock won 74-64 led by Darius Days with 19 points. Arizona signee DeAndre Ayton had 28 points and 16 rebounds for Hillcrest Prep.

The sixth and final game of The Kentucky Lake Showcase featured Prolific Prep and Hillcrest Prep. Oregon signee Abukigab’s 22 points led Prolific Prep in their 81-66 win. DeAndre Ayton scored 26 points for Hillcrest Prep. Gary Trent, Jr. led Prolific Prep with 25 points.
