DRAFFENVILLE – JC Goins, senior pitcher for the Marshall County High School baseball team, signed his National Letter of Intent Tuesday at Marshall County High School to play baseball at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Illinois.

Wabash Valley is a member of the NJCAA and the defending Region 24 championship under Head Coach Rob Founier.

“JC has had a great career at MCHS”, Head Coach Mike Johnson said. “He was an All-District and All-Region player as a junior and was also chosen as a Junior Kentucky State All-Star representing the 1st Region. The continued growth as a player is what most schools like about JC. He has the lanky build for a pitcher that colleges like. They see him a projectable player that can give them immediate help on the mound. He went 9-2 last year for us including a no-hitter in one of the biggest games we played all year. Wabash is getting a super student-athlete.”

“Out of my options it just felt like the best fit for me and I can’t wait to see how I’m going to progress in the Wabash Valley baseball program”, said Goins.

JC is the son of Merissa and Travis Gilmore.
