More than Two Dozen File as Write-In Candidates for Offices in Nov. 8 General Election

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2016) - Kentuckians wishing to vote for a presidential
slate not on the Nov. 8 General Election ballot may choose from 23 write-in
candidates who have filed to run, announced Secretary of State Alison Lundergan
Grimes. The filing deadline passed at 4 p.m. ET, Friday.
Write-in candidates have also filed to run for the offices of U.S. Senate, U.S.
Representative - 1st District, State Representative - 4th District, and an unexpired
term for 25th Circuit Family Court Judge.
"I commend any person who offers him or herself for public service," said Grimes,
Kentucky's chief election official. "Running for office is one of the best ways to
participate in our democracy."
