Juveniles charged in vandalism of Benton Cemetery

IMG_7817 IMG_7818On October 24th, Captain Hicks responded to the Benton Cemetery in reference to a vandalism complaint. Captain Hicks found 55 headstones that had been knocked over and damaged at the Benton Cemetery and the Strow Cemetery. Hicks spoke to Benton Fire Chief Harry Green who told him that someone had also broke in the fire department and stolen some items. Through investigation Captain Hicks was able to charge three juveniles with burglary 3rd, criminal mischief 3rd, and 55 counts of violating graves. The juveniles were charged and taken to McCracken County Juvenile Detention.
