Westbound Lane Restriction for Bridge End Paving on I-24 @28mm on Thursday & Friday, Oct 27 & 28

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and asphalt paving on a short section of Interstate 24 WESTBOUND in Marshall County on Thursday and Friday, October 27 & 28, 2016.

Westbound motorists should be prepared to encounter work zone lane restrictions along I-24 between the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge and the US 62 Exit 27 Interchange.  The contractor plans to mill and pave the driving lane bridge end connections at the P & L Railroad overpass at mile point 28.519 and the KY 282/Gilbertsville Highway Overpass at mile point  28.697.

The driving lane bridge ends have settled and become rough in recent months.  This project is an effort to smooth them before winter.

Westbound motorists should be prepared to encounter slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 28 mile marker during daylight hours.  All traffic will move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.  Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
