English takes the checkered at Duck River Tune-Up, wins at King of Clay

Tanner English had a nice win at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN, on October 1st in the Deep Fried 75 Tune-up earning $1500 in the win. The win preceded the Deep Fried 75 on October 15th with a purse of $13,000 going to the winner. English set a new track record in the time trials. 

He raced at Richmond Raceway Park on Saturday, October 8th, in the $10,000 to win, 59-lap Butterball Wooldridge Memorial.  English had third fastest time in a field of 31 cars, won his heat race and ran a solid third in place in the feature.

The following night English ran in the Super Late Model Special at the legendary Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, winning his qualifying heat race and captured the title of the King of Clay in the 30-lap $2,500 to win feature race.

In the Deep Fried 75 lapper on October 15th, English had the fastest time in his group and second fastest overall and ran second in his heat which resulted in a sixth place start position in the feature. He took the lead on lap 25 and dominated the field until lap 66. Following a 10th caution on the night, Billy Moyer picked up a half second on his lap speed and took the lead away, taking the checkered and adding the Deep Fried 75 to his win column earning $13,000.

English was on the podium and gracious in victory lane following the heartbreaking loss with the winner complimenting him on his abilities as a young racer.
