Volunteers Needed For Tax Assistance Program

BENTON, KY –This year Tax-Aide will be offering free tax preparations and assistance at both the Marshall County Senior Citizens Center and the Marshall County Public Library @Benton. The service is open to all low to moderate income taxpayers, regardless of age.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service, is currently seeking volunteers for the 2017 tax season.

If you’re good with numbers, then this is a perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Tax volunteers work with taxpayers directly, filling out tax returns and helping them seek their refunds. No experience is necessary. AARP trains their volunteers in the latest tax preparation forms and software .

In Kentucky, Tax-Aide has over 70 tax aide sites and approximately 450 volunteers. Last year they assisted 30,000 taxpayers generate $20,000,000 in refunds.
