Marshall County Sheriff’s Report October 17th, 2016

On October 14th at approximately 10:25am, Deputy Steven Oakley was dispatched to KY 348 approximately 3 miles west of Benton in reference to a two vehicle crash. According to a report filed by Deputy Oakley, a vehicle driven by Craig A. Madden age 21 of Symsonia was eastbound on Ky 348. The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and over corrected. The vehicle crossed into the path of a vehicle driven by Lonnie N. Tynes age 63 of Benton. The vehicles struck and the Madden vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder. The Tynes vehicle came to rest in a grassy area off of the left shoulder. Tynes was transported by Marshall County EMS to Marshall County Hospital.

On October 15th at approximately 8:00pm, Deputies Josh Anderson and Chris Greenfield were dispatched to the area of Possum Trot in reference to a possible DUI / reckless driver. According to citations filed by Deputies,upon arrival, Deputies found several individuals who reported that they had gotten out of the car fearing bodily harm. As a result of the investigation the Deputies traveled to nearby Mt. Moriah road looking for the driver and located the driver identified as Heather Robinson age 31 of Benton at a residence there. The deputies were told by a neighbor that the car was nearby in a ditch and that Robinson was the driver. Deputies confronted Robinson who they report was very intoxicated and agitated. Robinson struck Deputy Anderson in the face and kicked him. She also kicked Deputy Greenfield. Deputy Anderson arrested Heather Robinson and charged her with the following:
DUI
Assault 3rd Degree – Police Officer
Resisting Arrest
Leaving the Scene of an Accident
When The Deputies had arrived at Robinson’s residence, a male had run out of the door and into the woods. Deputy Chris Greenfield found the male, identified as Joshua L. Robinson age 26 of Benton. Deputy Greenfield reports that the male Robinson was also manifestly under the influence. He was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication and Fleeing or Evading Police ( on foot ). Both were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On October 16th at approximately 8:29pm, Sergeant Eddie McGuire received a tip that a drug deal was happening in the parking lot of Walmart. Sergeant McGuire, Deputy Chris Greenfield, and Officer Steve Robinson of the Benton Police Department responded and located the subjects and vehicles in the tip. Upon investigation, the driver of the vehicle gave permission for officers to search the vehicle. Officer Robinson noticed a small baggie sticking out between the windshield and hood near where the driver was standing. the bag contained clonazepam pills. Another clonazepam was found on the ground under the truck where the driver was standing. Willis D. Washburn age 56 of Benton was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
