Lady Marshals finish regular season with Senior Night win over CCA

DRAFFENVILLE – The Lady Marshals celebrated Senior Night Tuesday with a 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-7) win over Community Christian Academy. The final regular session win extends their record to 21-11 and they are unbeaten in district games to secure the #1 seed in next week’s 4th District Tournament to be played at Marshall County.

In set one, the Lady Marshals took an early 2-0 lead before CCA took charge and tied the game 9-9 then went on to a 21-12 lead and taking the set 25-18. A slow start for the Lady Marshals in set two found them trailing 3-0 before they tied it 3-3 on a kill by Hannah Langhi, but CCA would stretch their lead out once again to 10-5  before the Lady Marshals climbed back in to go up 19-18 and hold on to the lead to win the second set 25-22.

Down 3-0 again in set three, the Lady Marshals fell behind 6-1, then closed the gap behind service points from Bailey Parker and Kirsten Walker to even the set at 11-11. The Lady Warriors went on to out-score the Lady Marshals 9-2 to take a 20-13 lead forcing Marshall County to climb back in to tie it up at 22-22 then taking a 23-22 lead, their first lead of the set. They finished the set out on two straight kills by Ragan Harris and Alexis Hines for a 25-23 win to go up two sets to one.

The Lady Marshals dominated set four after leading 5-3 and never relinquishing it behind several kills by Langhi who had the most in set four of her 25 in the game, getting help by Harris and Hines to finish off the final set 25-7 to win 3-1.

Behind Langhi’s 25, Harris had 10 kills and Hines 7 with a team total of 46. Paige Henson led in assists with 38 and digs with 6 while Harris had 6 of the Lady Marshals 16 aces.
