First Baptist Church of Benton “Inasmuch Day” Saturday, August 27th

inasmuch day (2)Nearly 200 members of First Baptist Church of Benton, KY will pool their skills, talents, and time this Saturday, August 27th for community missions.  Volunteers from more than a dozen teams will fan across Benton and Marshall County to serve in projects ranging from painting and carpentry to cleaning and donating household necessities to local families.

The church has partnered with local non-profit agencies such as Marcella’s Kitchen, Kids Against Hunger, H.O.P.E. Clinic, Needline, Bags of Love, and the Benton / Central Family Resource Center to identify local missions projects that can be completed by team members.

The projects are part of a national program called “Inasmuch Day,” which brings church members into their communities to help others.  Jesus said in essence, “Inasmuch as you serve the least of these, you serve me.”  Throughout the Bible, God shows His compassion for the sick, the poor, the hungry, orphans, prisoners, and
immigrants, in short, anyone in need.  Inasmuch Day is one way for the church to follow His example.

The volunteers will begin the day in the church sanctuary at 8:00 a.m. with a devotion and prayers before heading out to work on their projects.
