Lady Marshals win 3-0 over Hickman County in season opener

DRAFFENVILLE – The Lady Marshals volleyball team began their season Tuesday in a home game against Hickman County, winning in three straight sets (25-20, 25-22, 25-8).

Hickman County jumped out to an early lead in the first set before the Lady Marshals put together a string of points behind serving from Alexis Hines to put them up 15-5. After leading 20-13, Hickman County out-scored the Lady Marshals 7-4 to close the game to 24-20 with Hannah Langhi scoring the winning point at the net.

Ragan Harris serving to open the second set, gave the Lady Marshals a 7-1 lead. They hung on to their lead throughout the game but the Lady Falcons continued to battle, keeping the set close pulling to within one point at 19-18. A kill by Harris put the Lady Marshals back up by two and they would hold on to win 25-22 on a winning tip by Langhi.

The Lady Marshals put together a nice third set, putting Hickman County away in more convincing fashion 25-8 for the 3-0 win.

Hines led in service aces with 8 followed by Paige Henson with 4. Langhi racked up 18 kills with 4 going to Harris. They will travel to Ballard Memorial for a game on Thursday.
