The Marshall County Adult Education program is launching its free, academic skill-building classes this month. Interested individuals should register for classes as soon as possible.
The classes, which are available morning, afternoon and evening, are designed to help students improve their skills for the GED test, as well as for college/training and improved employment opportunities. In addition to being available daily at the main center on Highway 641 throughout the week, they also have an instructor available at the Marshall Co. Library @ Calvert City on Mondays from 9:00-11:00am.
“Our classes take adults to the next level, educationally,” says Jillian Henson, director of Marshall County Adult Education. “Whether they need to learn to read better or want to pursue a college education, we help them get to where they want to go.”
Henson touts increased earning potential as a compelling reason to earn a GED test credential. “GED graduates earn an average of $9,300.00 more per year than non-graduates – and it only goes up from there,” she says. “The more you learn, the more you earn. That’s why we encourage our GED graduates to pursue higher education.”
