Old Business:

MCAC:

Ann Riley reported it is almost time to begin the after school programs again.  She brought some flyers about some things that are going on.  We are offering another one of the disciplines of the Arts this semester.  Dance.  We have slowly begun to offer more and more of the disciplines as venues, finances and instructors became available.  This is something that we have been asked to provide to the public but until now did not have all the things in place that it takes to start this program.  Our instructor is a local young woman from Calvert City, Terri White.  She is a sister to Judge Foust (one of the twins).  Hopefully we will have enough participation to continue to offer this program.  The class sizes are limited and continuation of the program depends on participation.

Master Plan:

Gene Gilliland presented a revised letter to send to prospective donors and discussion followed concerning several aspects of the letter.  Gene will speak with Mr. Calhoun concerning the time frame that his company would be available to work with us on this project and also about the possibility of beginning with (and paying for) the visioning process and then continue with (and paying for) the next phase.  It was decided that we would ask the Chamber to send a link to a copy of the letter with their regular newsletter.  Also Gene will speak with the press concerning whether a press release or a “Letter to the Editor” would be more effective.  It was decided that it is time to send the letter with the request that contributions be made by the end of the year. Motion was made to this effect by Ann Riley and second by Tina Fox.  Motion carried.  Ann Riley will create a “Group mailing” for the email addresses that we have.

            Cruise-In Report:

Lisa Peck  reported that this Cruise In was “awesome” with over 200 vehicles in attendance.  She reported that our food vendors turned in $123.50 for our portion of their receipts.  The need arose at this event to close 12th. Street and may be needed in the future.  There was a jeep club who brought 29 jeeps this month.  There is still problems with the speaker system.  Lois Cunningham is going to report this to the Mayor and ask that she contact the County Judge to arrange for correction of the problem and the possibility of the availability of access to the PA system located in the Courthouse and the possibility of getting the operation of the system moved to City Hall.  Diane Temple reported that approximately 20 T shirts were sold and that she would meet with Kennedys this week to order more.  She also offered to prepare a “banner” to display over the registration desk making it known that registration is free.  It was noted that a lap top to keep up with documentation would be very helpful.    Dave Puckett said that he believed he had one that could be made available.

Local Shopping Committee:

            Progressive Dinner Report:

Ann Riley reported that we are very close to getting ready to go to the poster designers.  She read through the names that need to be included on the printed matter in order to be sure that we do not inadvertently leave out someone who has contributed to this endeavor.
